well i gave it a few hours, got home, tightened the power steering pully alittle more cause it didnt look all the way down, started my car up and right away the steering wheel turned great, but..........now i hear a loud humming noise. the breaks seem to be back but i havent taken it around the block yet so i think its ok now. back to the humming, i put my ear to the top of the p.s. resivor and it felt like it was vibrating so i'm not sure if it is coming from the p.s. somewhere or what but thats where it sounds like it is coming from. any suggestions? what could be humming and vibrating?
Can anyone thinkwhy putting new seals on and reinstalling it would cause it to start humming almost like its just about to go out. Before i saw it leaking all over the driveway it wasnt making any noise at all.Does anyone think mabe its just making noise cause the seals were just replaced and it just needs some running time to get itself all lubed up and then stop making noise? mabe driving it alittle bit will help. Also when i get home tonight i will try to tighten the p.s. pulley up some more(even though its pretty far on).

You tighten/press on the pully all the way until you can't get it on any further. If you are using the correct tool to install the tool it is impossible to put it on to far. You still need to bleed your brakes. You will need a friend to help you and start at the brake furthest from the brake resivour (rear passanger).
