Default PI intake on non-PI heads

OK, so my intake is cracked right at the t-stat housing![:@] I have a PI intake and heads at home, but don't have the money to get all the parts to install it. I really need to get an intake on ASAP. I have heard you can put the PI intake on the non-PI heads, but am skeptical. Is this possible? [sm=feedback.gif]

yes, it will work. people have been doing this for a while. do a search on here, it seems like this topic has been brought up alot lately...
You either have to use NPI or PI gaskets with some rtv. MD will surely chime in here soon proly and clear things up.
Expect 30 or so RWHP gain above 3k, with the PI intake.

Yeah, I did a search before a posted this thread.[:-] It's just not entirely clear to me how it would work. I know they don't have the same exact opening, but I saw MD posted an article of some dude that did it. He doesn't go into deatil about matching the intake up to the heads but I guess he used the non-PI gaskets with some sealer.

PI stands for "Performance Improved" and they just flow a lot better than the non PI intake and heads. The 99+ GTs all have the upgrades and the pre-99's do not.

Does anyone know for sure if this can be done??? I really need to get the intake on and I would rather not have to buy adapter plates. But if they are necessary then I'll get them.[sm=helpout.gif]
