Default Steeda Timing Adjuster??

I have a 98 GT with PI intake, Dumped with X pipe, K&N filter....

Im wanting to add some more power to my car but wasnt sure if timing would help or not with the few mods I have. I've heard my car is stock with 10degress of timing and can be advanced to 14 to get the best results... How much HP will this add? Any at all with my near stock engine? How hard is the timing to adjust with the Steeda Timing adjuster?
Woudlnt I also have to run the higher octane gas if I advance the timing?

I plan to add 3.73s and pulleys very soon.... In case this makes a difference with timing.

Thanks

You have the PI swap so you could probably try 15 or 16 degrees advanced because your compression ratio is close to 10.1:1+. The engine will idle a lot better.

The timing adjuster itself is very easy to install and adjust. To adjust it you just have to loosen three allen head bolts and turn it in the desired direction. You will have to run atleast 91 octane if you advance your timing ANYTHING past 10 degrees advavced.

I dont have the complete PI swap... Just the Intake.....

So the Timing adjuster would be a good mod for my car right now? I can pick one up on ebay slightly used for about 75$.. For the money it sounds nice.

What kind of HP increas will I see?

BTW- the premium gas here is 93 octane so thats a good thing

You may see 8 hp whhich is a great deal for $75 in my opinion. If you dont have the PI heads then I would say just stick with 13-14* advanced.

if u can get the timing adjuster for 75 id def get it, even if it only added 4 hp... i like getting parts that i KNOW im getting a deal on, even if they wont add the most power int he world... and 75 is def a good deal. AND youll be getting a good amount of power... so go for it.. good stuff. a lot of people say to throw U/D pulleys on at the same time as the T/A so u can really feel the diff. ive heard 1 or the other alone isnt such a difference but if u do both then ull really feel it . so if u have an extra 150 ... get those pulleys too

Hey if I was going to buy a used timing adjuster and it didn't have the crank bolt with it it is that something that I could pick up at a parts store pretty easily? I found this timing adjuster for 30 bucks and was j/w about the crank bolt.

The steeda timer didn't work on my car at all !!!! All it did was make it run like CRAP !!! I will tell you from my personal exp. on the DYNO you will NOT see 8 - 10 hp, after I put mine on and took it to get dynoed I lost hp and lost tq, I called Steeda and they told me that I should get about 4 hp, and 22 tq, that didn't happen, so I took it off, and ran it again and gained 13 hp, and 26 tq, so as far as my 2 cents THEY SUCK !!!! Your comp. adjusts the timeing all throw the RPM's, so at some points of RPM's you will have up to 20 deg. of timeing if you put a adjuster on you only have 14 deg. of time. My 2 cents ( A WAST OF MONEY ! )[:@]
