Default Cobra brakes...

I was wondering if anyone has a good write up w/pics of a Cobra brake upgrade? I am doing this in a week or so and need some help. Any suggestions would be great!
THANKS!

Its really easy. Remove the wheel, remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper onto the mount, remove the brake line from the caliper, remove the caliper, remove the disc, then reassemble the entire thing.

When you reassemble, use locktite on the bolts that hold the caliper on, make sure the bleeder on the caliper is pointing UP, and afterwards bleed the crap out of hte system, basically nothing more too it than that.

And don't spill any brake fluid on anything with paint, if you do make sure you wash it off, brake fluild likes to eat paint.

I had cobra brakes installed on my 2000 GT and I can say it's almost a 50% improvement over my old stock brakes. I went with Baer 12 inch rotors in the rear and 12.8 inch brembo rotors in the front. I got cobra calipers installed in the front and painted them red (looks good with black rims) and got hawk performance brake pads in the front and rear. The entire system including installation was $1,450, but it's definitely worth it. Brakes should be your first modification. The supercharger comes later

Oh ok, seems simple.
Only thing is I don't know how to bleed a brake system.
Is it "involved"??

Are you doing all 4 wheels or just the front? If you're doing all four, its gonna cost you about 1000 for the kit. You can get the 2000 Cobra R front brakes for the same price. They're 4 piston brembo calipers, much better than the 2 piston PBR calipers you get with the Cobra upgrade.

I did the cobra upgrade. Was it better than stock? Yes. Was it 1000 dollars worth better? No. I wish I had gone with this kit and just focused on the fronts for the same price. Again, this is assuming you were going to spend the money to do the full upgrade.
