Default Lean bank 1 & 2 HELP

Got my codes read and the codes read lean bank 1 and 2. I have recently put on an o/r x and mil eliminators but there was a leak on the passenger side exhaust manifold. There is still a slight leak and i thought thats what was causing my cel but the guy at autozone said he didn't think the leak would cause the lean bank 1 and 2 since the leak is only on one side. My rpm's randomly jump up and the car has been idling high lately. What things should i look for?

I have recently noticed a loud like whining sound when decelerating and accelerating. This may be its own problem because this is recent. The sound gets worse when i turn the wheel and its horrible when the engine is cold.

maybe you have an intake leak or a leak at the manifold because both banks are lean... or your o2 sensors are fugged up or not installed correctly.

There are a number of codes relating to lean mixture issues--do you know the exact codes that were read?

prob a po171 and a po174....most common...And...Just repaired a Ford ranger 3.0 for the same codes.....Clogged fuel filter...But....like stated..intake manifold leak...VACCUM leak,,low fuel pressure,,bad or skewed MAF....several things..can cause lean bank 1 and 2 codes..Have you changed the fuel filter?If not sure couldnt hurt...

You may also have a stuck idle air controller. If it does stick it WILL throw lean codes, normally it throws a code for idle air controller underspeed or overspeed also, but may not. It might be another thing to look for...take it off and clean it with some carb or brake cleaner.

I would check the IAC and TPS if your having idle issues.
