I read the same thing about not cleaning the TB. It applies to newer mustangs too, I read it in a Ford shop manual specifically for the 03' mustang. I'd spend the 90 bucks to find out if you can repair it or upgrade to an Accu-Fab.

lmao.. dont clean the throttle body? haha try that living in a 120 degree dust bowl. last time i cleaned mine it looked like my car sucked up a black man. i say clean it.. screw the factory coating. do you also believe the coolant in your vehicle is good for 100,000 miles cause "the factory says"?? come on.. not everything from the factory is written in stone. do you also believe that the mustang and charger are muscle cars cause the factory calls them that?

ORIGINAL: Shelbyville

Do you have a stock TB? I could be way off on this so do some research, but I thought I read somewhere that you were not supposed to clean the TB with anything because it has a protective coating from the factory to keep from getting buildup inside and cleaning it will remove the coating. Not sure if this is true or if it would even cause the problem you are having.I know I readit somewherebut I can't remember where.
+1

His problem is most likely the IAC dirty.
Remove it and give it a good clean.
Re-install, leave battery disconnected for 30 minutes or so.
Start up and drive around and see if it gets better.

It could also be that you flushed away a piece of gasket from the IAC or another fitting and now
you have a vacuum leak.

Check your TPS for .94 volts or so.
