Default catback and midpipe

Looking to buy a cat-back and midpipe for my 01 GT. I need to get a midpipe with cats to pass emissions. I want something that is loud but more deep than anything and it needs to be able to be quieted when needed (just not something that is blaring loud when i give it little gas). I've been looking at the SLP LMII, Magnaflow Magnapacks, Magnaflow (regular), Borla and really have no idea what I'm looking at. Any advice on a catback and midpipe for what im looking in terms of sound?

the regular magnaflows are relatively quiet unless you are romping on it. I bought mine for pretty much the exact reason you posted, I wanted to be quiet (somewhat) if I had to be. fyi, I have a bbk catted X with the magnaflows.

For the midpipe I have an offroad MAC pro-chamber so I can't recommend that to you cuz it has no cats. But for the cat-back there is no better than Magaflow (not Magnapacks) if you are looking for something that is:

- high quality welds and bends and materials
- looks great
- sounds like it has true bawls
- is not at all loud inside the car even with 4.10 gears going 80MPG
- can be subtle or agressive in the subdivision depending on how you are throttling it.
- sounds nice @ idle

How does the Magnaflow exhaust compare to the SLP LMIIs?

i love loud and obnoxious so i am going with the flowmaster 40series with the single resonator but the magnaflow set up they are suggesting will probbaly sound close to the LM2 kit might not be as mean but close with headers could sound the same or even better from what i have heard of them they sound great

i have a slp catted x, and lm II catback, and it will scream pretty good at WOT, but then again, if I see the law, i can make it about as loud as a honda (without a fart can)

Sounds like you want the Magnapacks!
These babies scream RAPE when at wide open throttle but still grumble nice and goodwhen you don't romp on it.
I believe Magnapacks and Lm2s are very similar in sound.
The Magnapacks are actually deeper than the mac catback I had one before (chambered mufflered)

borlas are ok, not big on the sound though. to me they sound kinda whiney. i have lmIIs, and they are pretty loud. if you want somethin decent sounding and has a good tone and not too pricey, then id check out magnapacks or lmIIs.
