Well you new edge guys are lucky. I don't think I've ever even seen an aftermarket cluster for a 96-98. All you ever see is overlays. I priced it out to build an autometer one that would matches my gauges and it would cost like $770.[:-]

according to the gear calculator you have 4.88s, 60mph=2569rpm, 70mph=2997rpm. doesn't matter the tranny, both have the same ratios.

I spun the tire it turned 1 time and the driveshaft rotated 4 times....
More than likely 4.11's, just a smign' more than 4 turns of the drive line to one turn of the wheel.

If you had 4.56's, you'd see about 4 1/2 turns of the drive line to one turn of the wheel.

If you had 3.73's, you'd see atad less than3 2/3turns of the drive line to one turn of the wheel.

By spinning the rear wheel one revolution and counting drive line revolutions in neutral, you completely eliminate any need to know which tranny you have. This method holds true to any typical ring/pinion differential in any vehicle.

This works 100% of the time.
