Default reusing parts in a PI swap

I am trying to piece together my PI swap. I've got all the major parts but I am trying to get all the misc parts. This is the list of stuff I found but does anyone who has done the swap know if some of these parts are not needed becuase I can reuse parts from my engine.

Ford Head Changing kit
Intake Gaskets
Thermostat and O-Ring
Thermostat Housing Bolts
Heater Hose (for the different runner length of the PI Intake)
Heater Hose Nipple
Alternator Bracket and Bolts

Camshaft Bolts

Valve Cover Gaskets
Timing Cover Gaskets
Water Pump Gasket

Motorcraft Spark Plugs

Thanks,

Shane

You should replace your timing chain tensioners

You don't have to remove your water pump. You can just use rubber lines for your new heater hose. And if you don't take off your water pump you're not going to need a new pump or gasket. I didn't replace the alternator bracket or bolts, I used my old stuff. I also re-used my thermostat housing bolts, thermostat, gasket, and spark plugs. And what's up with the camshaft bolts? The heads you have should already have camshaft bolts...? But I do recommend getting new timing chain tensioners. They're about $100 for both of them through Ford. I think Ford is the only company that makes them.

Are there any key ways to find out if a car has a PI swap... I've got a 96 that runs a hell of a lot better than my other 96 and my buddy's 98... It has the pi intake with the aluminum crossover pipe and the valve covers have 11 bolts in them...

If your car has a lot of miles you might look into replacing the timing chains, but it's not needed because the chains are suppose to last the life of the motor.
