When I come to a stop with hard braking like a red light, then sit for a minute with my foot off the clutch, when I take my foot off the brake push the clutch in and put it back in first I'm getting a clunking. It dosen't do it if I roll slowly to a stop, just with hard braking. It sounds like there is some movement somewhere that shouldn't be there. I checked the U joints for play, there dosen't seem to be any movement, but I bought 2 new onesand will install them on the weekend. Could it be something in the rearend or tranny?

Sounds like ordinary driveline slack... is this a developing problem or something something thats been happening since you got the car?

It's a fairly new problem, I've only noticed it the last few weeks. I forgot to mention, it's an '02 GT

I have the same thing. I don't want to say its normal, because you may have a different issue going on but this is common.
