My speedometer sometimes does not register properly. Somedays it says 0 and other days it maybe 20, 40 whatever, but I know that it's not right. Is it possible that the gear is slipping on the cable or just not making good contact withthe tranny gear? It is a 96 GT auto with 150,000 miles on it. Anyone had this same experience?

Good thought about the gear in the cable. You should go under your car. Its got one bolt holding in a retainer for the cable pull it out and see if the teeth are fine on it. If not I think you found your problem. there is also a plastic gear on the tail shaft of the transmission so hopefully thats not wron too.
