Default CAR SHUTS OFF

HI, My car has been shutting off on me recently. It only does it sometimes. like 1 in 8 starts. It only does it on cold starts. I turn it on and then it shuts off right away. I have to give it a little gas in order to keep it on. This started happening after I polished my plenum. Everything is connected right.

Take it to the shop. They have the gear to plug in to see what the problem might be.

Have to have a CEL for any machine to tell you what's happening...

Start with your IAC.

<--- If that were true we ( our dealership) wouldnt have spent a few thousand on the WDS, we would have stuck with the NGS. lol. How about this DAN.... Say youre Mustang has a multiple misfire, but not misfireing on enough of a percentage to set the Check engine light? What do you do then.... take a wild guess in the dark and make the customer pay 100's of dollars while i replace coil after coil seeing why youre stang hesitates? I think not. lol Just plug in the WDS and use the powerbalance test and find out what is misfiring. Also you can check the coils, wires. So yeah, you can use a machine without a CEL.

I would say maybe IAC. I havent replaced mine yet, but it does start then die every so often.. I know the symptons of an IAC. They are a huge downfall to FORD. Also DPFE. But i doubt thats the problem.

Just replaced mine today. I believe it was around $100 for the part and maybe 10-15 min for the install. Hope that helps.

IAC could be the fault, but that is easy to check. TPS will do the same thing. That was the problem on my 90 5.8, TPS was erratic. Also simple to test.

Crap missed it by a few Millilitres. [:@] That engine is in the parts getter. You know how it is. The fukin trunk is too small to bring home the parts you need to keep the Mustang on the road!

1990 5.4? Holly hell, did you create that youreself?

and 100 bunx for an IAC is amazing. I was thinking more along the lines of 40 tops. But maybe the dealership you bought from screwed you. lol.
