which type of gears would get the best performance yet keep the mpg about the same. I was thinking that 3.73's or 4.10's but the thing is i drive it on the highway and in town. 4.10's and 4.30's are a little steep for highway driving arent they?

i went with 3.73s. i'm at 2000rpm at 65mph. the 3.73s gave a very noticable increase on my car. it pulls really hard, but not too hard that i lose traction really easily.

If your gonna stay N/A then you should get 4.10's or 4.30's... anything less and you'll be disappointed I promise (this only applies with certainty to 2001.5+ GT's)

I'll tell you the same story I tell alot...

A while back I met a good friend of mine through this site, he asked me about my gears (4.10 at the time). He said he was wanting to get 3.73's but some people told him to get 4.10's at least... he wasn't sure what to do - he feared the gear. Well, I let him drive my car with the 4.10's and you know what that fugger did? He went out and bought 4.30's!

If you are on the freeway any decent amount, get 3.55's or 3.73's. You will loose mpg on the freeway with 4.10's, especially if you like to drive at 75+ mph.

jdaniel did a post of his long **** trip with 4.10s. you won't lose nearly as much mpg as you think.

you're better off going to a shop and having them install them. they'll do everything for you.
