Default Car seems to stutter accelerating

My 96 GT has recently gotten worse with this stuttering problem. It's almost completely below 2k rpms, in gears 2-5. For example, if I floor it in 2nd at 1,500 rpms, it starts to shake a little. You can feel it in the pedal and in the shifter. It hasn't had new plugs/wires or a fuel filter for a while, so I was thinking it could be something like that. Since the shifter is shaking too, I thought it could be something connected to that. Help me guys, it's starting to get worse.

could be motor mounts.. i dont think its a spark/fuel issue but you should change those just to be sure. if it is hesitating id do the normal maintenance and see if it goes away. is the car just shaking and its accelerating fine? or is the motor bogging down

It's not really bogging down, it's just accelerating slower than usual because it's shaking. I don't feel like it's the motor mounts, because it only happens in lower rpm's when the gas it pressed fairly far down. I think I'm just gonna do plugs/wires/fuel filter because it probably needs it anyway. After that we'll see how it feels.

i'm having the same problem in my 96'. when you floor it at low rpm's it feels like its missing and for a split second the engine loses power. i just added a "fuel system cleaner" and we thank part of the problem may be something got through the filter and clogged some injectors. by the way the car has all original fuel and ignition parts. as long as i dont floor it the car is fine even in the high rpms, but if i push it it starts skipping.

Sounds like a vacuum leak.

replacing the plugs and wires today. guy at the shop said i was having a missfire on #8 when under load (for some reason no check engine light or codes). but my plugs and wires are the orginal set from 96' so we are gonna see if some fresh stuff will fix that.

This may be a newbie question, but how would I go about diagnosing/pinpointing this problem?
