Default 02 GT starter question

I have a 2002 GT (automatic) with 8600 miles, my question is.. when I go to start my car, the engine will crank but it doesn't start. It will do this 2 times then it will start with me giving it a little gas. Now I don't give it gas everytime I start my car, but it doesn't seem like it'll start unless I do so when going through this. It does this about 4 times a week.. twice a day. This is a problem I've been going through for 9 months (had the car for 1 year), when I take it in for oil changes, of course it doesn't act up then. I would leave it with the dealership, but they would need it for a week before they even looked at it. I like to get advice from the forums.. since the mechanics at the dealerships seem to know nothin. Any comments about this would be appreciated! Other than this issueand the windows screeching like hell.. I love my car!!

Default 02 GT starter question

Ok I got some info.....One possibility is the DPFE sensor....(Pressure Feedback Exhaust sensor)... This is part of the emission control system and we see all sorts of problems with them.....That could be a possiblity and if you have the money they have a list price of $72.40 and the part # is F77Z9J460AB.... you could try and replace it but I'm not completely sure it will solve the problem...I've just seen it happen alot on Fords as I administer warranty claims on cars...It is located to the left of the master cyl. on the firewall if you arein front of the vehicle looking at the engine..it only take about 15. mins to replace...I hope this info helps!!
