Default Grill delete installation??

I'm getting a grill delete kit so I figured I would take the old honey comb grill out waiting for it to arrive. It is easier said then done so far.

I hit a major snag taking out the grill.

How in heck do you get the four grill hold down screws out of the bottom of the grill off???
They come up through the bottom and there is NO access to take them out short of taking off the WHOLE dang bumper cover to get to them.

For those of you that have put these on yourself, Do I have to take off the bumper cover to get those 4 stupid screws out? Or is there an easier way??? I cannot see an easier way to do it.

Also, I had to cut off a couple of those round black plastic clip screw attatchment things because they wouldn't screw out, so where can I get replacments of those?
Thanks for any help.

Lynn

Its been awhile since I did mine but ifI remember right I pulled both headlights, pulled back the bumper cover and came in at an angle(arm in the headlight area from the side)with a 1/4 rachet and 7mm socket?..and drank plenty of beer....while cursing the whole time..LOL.. Autozone, pepboys, napa ,one of these should have those replacement palstic screws...

Just use 3M double sided tape on it on the bottom. That's what I did, no issues what so ever.

first poster is correct. i just put billet grills on my car last week and thats how i did it. pull both the headlights out then you can pry the bumper back...just be careful you dont pull too hard. it was a pain but its do-able.

actually you can put the screws bakc in the bottom and its not hard at all, you just put that little clip thing on 'upside down' so you screw it down and the head is left on top.

+1 on the headlight removal and prying the bumper back. Same way I did it as well.

ehh...taking out the headlights is too much like work. Just pry the honey-comb grill forward to give you enough enought room to get the wrench under onto the bolt. this is how i did it....no taking out headlights or bumpbers.

just tkaes a lil elbow grease and some patients. did all that and mine looks just fine.

Pull the honeycomb back and get your hand down there. Bust your knuckles a few times and be proud. oh, and IMO make sure you purchased the 3 piece Mach 1 grill delete. Much better.
