... how can you powershift without using the clutch [&:]

anyways, I've ben powershifting my car since it had 500 miles... that was 55000 miles ago, still have the stock clutch - have had probably 50 runs with stock tires, 200 runs on Nitto's, and 20 passes on slicks... that doesnt count the probably thousand powershifts on the street.

My clutch still holds, and my tranny shifts like butter.
what holy water did u use 2 bless ur tranny and clutch?...lolol cuz I want some
um... Steeda brand Triax water?
I used 2 have that shifter...but after my tranny went on me ford blamed it on the shifter so I now only have the stock shifter in....ford also put a new clutch in also...but somethingd deff. up w/ my tranny and clutch..if I shift real fast and hard at high rpm for racing (not powershifting) after the race is done my clutch will only move up maybe 2 inches off the floor and grabs right away ...after I leave it off over night its back to normal in the morning...and I need the TR3650 tranny upgrade from ford for sure the grinding is killing me in cold weather...

Rollin'

Sounds like the heat is breaking down the fluid, swap out to synthetic, betcha that fixes it.

i bought my cobra w/ 16k on it and it needed a new clutch then. i was told to much power shifting and too many burn outs from the previous owner. so i put a stock clutch back in it, and still power shift and do burnouts only at the track.,
md, thats a pretty cool webpage you got, man you beat up on that car, and it seems to like it. shows me that you take good care of maintaining it. sweet ride man. you have to let me know when you come to gainesville again, i'll meet you up there, and see that 2v kick some cobra butt...... not mine ofcourse

Sorry, but what does fluid have to do with a CLUTCH? lol. Its mech, not hydrolic. I would have to say all of them do it. When you heat up youre clutch it will deff. feel different than when you first drive it in the morning.
And when you get the TSB done, it feels much better.

i recently started powershifting my 03 GT. havent done it in a race yet (havent needed to lol) only when im having fun. but one time i powershifted into 3rd and my CEL came on. i thought i fux0red something but it was just my O2 sensors. i dont see powershifting being hard on the tranny, just the clutch cause it sends alot more power through it. kinda explains my "puff" of potent exhaust that set of my O2 sensors hahaha.

correct, sure it puts more stress on the gears and input shaft of the tranny... but unless you've got a T5 it can probably take anything you throw at it... the clutch though will take a beating but even with my hp and hard shifting with 55k + miles the car still pulls the wheels off the ground with slicks... on the stock clutch

Don't go to G'ville often, the track in Cecil is only 15 minutes from my house. I only went down there when the track here closed for a month in December. I'd make the trip though maybe to meet up with some other mustang folks, I've got a couple friends here that would go too. Kinda hard to though considering we've got such a good track right here.

If you dont mind makin a road trip to Valdosta you're welcome to meet up with us.
