also LS1, LT1, which ones are those? I'm not like in the market of a new car or anything, mostly what i'm shooting at is engine swap. I think like the GT and the V6 have the same body expect like the engine and a few here and there but as in performance there just engine and the T5 tranny i think mabe final greas too. no to sure, but that's what i need to know to see what i need and looking into. But body i believe there the same fox body??[sm=pcwhack.gif]

I think I'd buy a GT and be done with it...5k for the 6-er and then how much money will you spendfor a 4.6 and whatever else thats needed?...at least I'd say 2k ...plus all your labor....buy a 99 00 GT with decent mileage for around 6500 to 8500...and then mod that...IMO

with the 5,000 price range.. id find a high mileage NPI and do a PI swap. with the new heads, intake and cams itll be half a new motor. and with that, youd be making more power than a PI stang.. but youd have to run higher octane fuel cause your compression will be bumped up.

Just buy a 99+ GT and stick with that. If you don't plan on racing it, why would you want 400HP? Just to say you have it? If that's the case, change your sig to say you have it (like some people do) and your all set

Seriously. Just buy a 99+ GT and go with a vortech. You'll spend plenty less. And $5000 for a V6 hardtop is expensive (I'm assuming hard top). I bought my 98GT vert for $6300.

I just looked up a 99 GT for $5500, 90k miles hard top. Do an auto trader search man.

Default RE: HELP!!!!!!!!! please

I just bought a 2001 4.6L Engine and Tranny for $800. I wouldnt pay more then that because it is only a 2V, but thats just me. In my case i am doing all the work myself (pretty plain and simple) so it is alot better then buying a GT. Also according to my insurence i still got a 3.8L. My advise to you is if you wants this as your DD and still want more power consider. A supercharger, full bolt ons, or switch over to the 4.6L 2v V8. I personally would just go to the 4.6 right now because 1. You can get them cheap 2. Aftermarket parts are Usually cheaper and eaiser to come by 3.More power out of the box 4. Its a V8. If you are at all mechanically inclined it would be easy to do. Rent a engine hoist, unbolt the 6 and drop in the 8 and the new wiring harness/radiator. Just get a friend to help you out. Also i considered trading in my Red 02 and gettin a GT and i priced it out. I wanted one with around the same miles and condition and they were about $3-4k more. Plus resale for V6's suck. Then you have to go through the hassle of regerstering it, insurence(will be more just for the GT on the side) and passing emmisions and all that junk. Even if you get someone to install it for you, it will still cost you less then to switch to a GT The PM you sent me said "i want to swich to a V8". Well i have been raised, if you really want to, then do it. So you asked what i thought, and i told you, the rest is up to you. If you need help with the conversion all you have to do is PM me again and im sure i can make somthing up for you. I might still have some pics from when i did my buddys. GL
