RE: metal particles in oil
barely any at all, at first i thought it was just dirt particles but i wiped them between my fingers and seen that they reflected in the light. when you say bearing, what bearing are you talking about? i was told that rod bearings are made from aluminum so they wouldnt have been picked up by the magnet. is that true?

possibly a rod bearing.. aluminum isnt as magnetic as iron but some of them would have been caught.. if its just a little, and the motor is running fine. i wouldnt worry about it right now. id do another oil change in about 500 - 1000 miles and see if there are any. if there is.. something is out of whack

Its normal for a break in engine or a high mileage engine... Just because it is normal doesn't mean it is good... Bearing wear is about your only option... Might try to run some Lucas oil stabilizer to help coat the bearings...

Lets put a size on it what do you say. If the light hits it right you will almost always see that little metallic sparkle on oil that has a few thousand miles on it. But those particles shouldn't be any larger than maybe 1/10th the size of a grain of sugar. You shouldn't be able to really feel them if you rub them between your fingers. All you should feel is the oil. I would definitely run some Lucas Oil treatment or switch to a good synthetic if you already haven't.
