Default ticking sound still there! HELP!

i made a post about a ticking noise coming from my motor. I had an exhaust leak while that was goin on. i got the leak taken care of, the noise is still there. someone had suggested it may be my injectors.... what about my injectors though. are they going bad? do they go bad? can it be fixed? its driving me insane. and i think im losing power too!... please help someone.

An injector does tick but not so loud you'll hear it while goin down the road. Could be a colasped lifter. If your loosing power I would check for that.

I have the same problem, I used a mechanics stethoscope and found that one of my injectors is just really loud.

Listen to this guy, though like he said, ford was supposed to have fixed the threadng in the heads..

take em out, and see if they were all in correctly, and all the way

could be this.. it happened to me and turned into a fiasco

ok so ive ruled out exhaust leak, if it was the injector what would it be? and the spark plugs should be fine cuz i replaced them thinkin thats what the noise was..... as far as a collapsed lifter? what would cause that? mileage? the cars got 75k miles.... i really want to fix this myself without takin it to a mechanic..........

do you hear it constantly or only through certain rmps? i have a bad ticking sound to but its only between 2 and 3 grand. i have been told by a few people that it could be my timing chain slapping againts the guids. is it loud enough that you can hear it as your cruising down the road? i also have 73k on my engine

I had a similar ticking noise coming from my car. I thought it was a lifter but it ended up being a cracked piston ring that wasnt holding pressure in the cylinder which could explain the loss in power....i would obviously do what these other guys say first before jumping to conclusions but there is a possibility that could be your problem....

My car has the ticking noise as well but it is a 1997 GT with 75,400 miles on it. I am trying the Lucas injector cleaner and see if that will cure the problem.
