RE: I'm NEW..I'm looking @ a 96 GT
That is low mileage for a 9ish year old car. I recommend checking the car thoroughly to make sure the mileage is not BS.
1. Look at the wear on the gas, brake and clutch pedals. Expect some wear, but the difference between a normal 96 and a 96 with only 36K should be obvious.
2. I'd remove the oil filler cap and feel for sludge under the valve cover...using your finger.
3. Check the wear on the seats.
4. Check the bumpers and stuff for obvious wear beyond the 36K stated.
5. Check the shifter for obvious wear beyond 36K.
Basically, look at things that are used all the time. Things should still be in relatively good condition @ 36K. If it has the usual 80K+ you'll see the difference. My biggest concern would be BS'ing the mileage - even odometer fraud. Also do a carfax report.
That price/mileage is damned good - almost too good to be true. To me that would make me extremely suspicious.
Hope it works out though. Take care,
Ceyko
