its a 99, cracked intake by the thermostat, pisses coolant when it drives. its the plastic intake, does it qualify for the recall?

You can call the dealer to just double check, but I think he's right. If it's not covered, it'll only be about $125 anyway.

UNLESS***

you bought the car from a ford dealership after that date expired, then the ford dealership IS responsible for changing it. When they receive their vehicles back onto the lot, they are required to fix any recalls on the vehicle before re-selling it (at least here in NV)

the recall only covered up to 97 or 98 GT's with the all plastic intake manifold. if you have the 99 gt it will not be covered in the warranty because it has the aluminum crossover. The recall called for the old plastic intake with plastic crossover(NPI) to be swapped out with an updated NPI manifold that had an aluminum crossover. So yea, your SOL. your lookin at about 200 bucks for a new PI mmanifold and 30 bucks for gaskets.

btw i had this recall performed on my 96 GT, but then the updated one cracked right underneath the thermostat housing also, here is where the manifold cracked and was shooting coolant from, it warped and then cracked, it doesnt look like much but in a pressurized system it does some damage. so i updated and went to the PI manifold

The 99/00 PI intakes were also all plastic and covered under the recall...

hmmmm did some research and your right, thought they only did the recall for the NPI cars. because the dealer told me my 98 wasn't covered under it, i wasnt happy haha

The 98 was covered under the most recent recall your dealer was just an idiot as are most. The 96-97's were not covered because they were covered under a previous recall that went out in early 99 (or atleast thats when my dealer sent me a letter) and recieved a 7 year/70k coverage on the intake. My NPI never cracked.
