The wather pump will have a small hole on top and on the bottom right behind the pulley, turn on the car and then check to see if water comes out of the little holes. If water does come out youve found your problem.

It probably be best to replace your water pump. Usually it will start to leak when your pulley starts going out.

Im pretty sure you can install it yourself.

OK wow...thanks. I'll try it tomorrow.

I read somewhere else that the guy isolated the noise by removing the belt and starting the engine....is that safe for just a few seconds to hear if it's there or not?

If it's OK, then I'll do that tomorrow in case I don't figure it out.

Thanks redmaro1.

So long as you don't run it more than a few seconds this should be ok.

First things first... take off the belt and try turning the water pump by hand.

I drove my car for a mile with no belt once its fine as long as its already cooled down. It sounds like the water pump is bad. They are cheap and very easy to install. Its just 4 bolts to pull the pully off and 4 bolts to pull the pump off. Nothing is in the way so its easy.
