Hey guys, i'm fairly new to the forum and was wondering if anyone can help me out.

I recently purchased a 2001 mustang cobra and am looking into some mods to get.

What are some good stuff to get that won't cause any damage to the engine and where are good places to buy products online? I'm considering intake and maybe a new shifter. The shifter on the stock cobra seems kind of rough when going from 1st gear to 2nd but its not that big of a deal.

Anyone with ideas, suggestions ... appreciated!

Get a Steeda Tri-Axe shifter and some exhaust mods.

exhaust seems mean as it is right now.... what would be a good exhaust upgrade to get?

ive heard exhaust mods on a cobra wont yeald nearly as much power as if you were to do it on a GT or something... there was an article where they put a VRX x pipe on a cobra and it barly gained a few HP to the wheels ... if anything get some long tubes on the cobra... im sure THOSE will wake it up more than any other exhaust mod ....

short shift kits are cool, i got the steeda my self ... its a nice upgrade to the stock shifter

id say get some gears 1st thing on the cobra... 410s would be the best... i just got 410s in my 99 GT and i love them... they would be really sweet on the cobras since they rev higher... youd have a longer 1st gear so it would be awsome

so i say rear end gears and a shift kit first , maybe an x pipe for sound and a couple HP

Well you can try finding a deal on some gears somewhere but you're gonna end up paying 170-190 for 4.10s. (FORD GEARS ONLY) Then if you don't wanna put a new catback on just get some longtube headers and an x/h pipe. Headers can run anywhere from 250-500 bucks depending on what brand, but a lot of guys go with BBK and MAC that I've seen, and go with ceramic headers, they don't get hot like chrome does. With the longtubes and h/x pipe look to spend around 500 bucks but it's all up to you what brands you pick. Just research it all out and you'll be fine.

it all depends on how much money u want to spend , once u figure that out, itll be easier to narrow down what mods u should get

I forgot to mention, if you get longtubes you need a shorty x/h pipe.
