Just bought a 96 GT
Hey Im new to the forum, just bought a 96 GT with the Tangerine paint (really sweet btw) Don't know much about its history but I know it has an H pipe and it sounds real aggressive, and the tail lights are clear and look very tight. I bought this car on an impulse I guess, I test drove it once and was blown away. I plan on starting mods around mid summer. Gonna start off with an intake, then hit the TB and the gears and the plugs will be a breeze so I'll do those whenever. Exhaust will be last cause the H-pipe is already installed so I figure thats enough to tie me over for now. All exterior junk will come after about 2 grand is sunk into performance. Its a damn sweet thing driving a Mustang.

RE: Just bought a 96 GT
Definitely do the headswap first. You'll pick up 50-60 horses from PI heads and intake but it will bump your compression to just over 10:1 so you'll have to use 91/92/93 octane or whatever high performance fuel is available in your area. Between the PI heads and gears you'll shave about a second or a little more off your quarter mile time and your car will pull like a raped ape compared to now. If you want to get a new air intake Densecharger is the way to go. You should also get a short throw shifter with positive stops so you can bang away and not hurt your transmission. Welcome to the club dude!
