I'm thinking about getting one of those caliper paint sets from autozone...anyone have any good/ bad experinces. Definatly would'nt want one if it started peeling after a few days...
I used the brush on duplicolor kit and it worked very well.
Make sure to clean them off with the inlcuded brake cleaner and something like an old toothbrush or such because any place there is even the slightest bit of dirt, the paint will dry darker and won't stick as well.

Like most painting jobs its 90 percent in the prep work and 10 percent actual painting.

I was doing pads at the same time so I didn't need to mask off anything, just be careful.

Also it takes A LOT longer than you think because you need to put several coats on to cover it nicely, at least with the red color.
It dries real fast though, like 15 minutes.

I didn't paint the bracket, but some people do.
Looks nice either way.
Now I have to do the backs.

engine paint will work on calipers, for a cheaper alternative. i did it like a year ago (high gloss black), and they look brand new today. when they get dusty, i just hit em with a toothbrush

So would engine paint be cheaper than a caliper paint kit, or about the same? Either way, can't go wrong with less than 10 a can...

The Duplicolor kit I bought was $10.99 at Advanced Auto.
I think it might have been on sale but it includes a full size spray can of brake cleaner as well so I thought it was a good deal.

The only downside is now those puny rotors REALLY look anemic [&:]
