My sister's friend has a 96 mustang and she broke her only ignition key that has the transponder (she has a copy but its just a plain key).. Im trying to save her some money by just bypassing the system instead of her having to goto the stealership for a new key. On my Camaro the keys have a little chip (just a resister) that i could measure the resistance of and then just put a resister inline with the wiring to bypass the VATS system when i did a remote start system, but im not familiar with how these mustang keys work at all..

Can anybody explain how they work? and any links would be wonderful with any diagrams or info about bypassing the system
