Well I got my gears today.Its been such a pain in the A$$. I was haveing a guy in my car club do the work, he was doing it in his spare time so it took forever for him to get to it. Then the speedo gear gets shipped to the wrong place and someone signs for it. Then as the guy is doing the work I get a phone call saying that the wheelspeed senser broke so I have to get one of those. So finally he gets it done all but the wheelspeed sensor so we decide that I would go ahead and take the car and that I would bring it back next week to get the senser put in. I picked the car up and got about 2 miles from the guys house and pull up to a stop sign. I figure Ill open her up and see what she will do. So I nail it takes off fast feels good then, all of the sudden I start smelling antifreeze. So I let off, buy time I find a good spot to pull over my low coolant light was on and the car was running hot. I open the hood and my nice spotless beutifull engine compartment is covered with coolant.[:@]I finally got my 4:10s and didn't even make it to third gear before my junka$$ plastic manifold cracked. All I wanted to do was play with my new gears that I've been waiting for forever qand now my car is brokeand covered in antifreeze

Now that sucks, now go buy a trick flow manifold and go back to the guy and post back to us.

i just changed mine out actually (03 tho). paid like 210$ to have one shipped that came with all gaskets and everything already attached to it from a store called like autopartsdirecttoyou.com i think

sorry about the luck tho :-(. i just bought my car like a month ago and 2 weeks later i popped my hood when i got to work and it was squirting antifreeze out between the crossover and the manifold. and it had lost alot of coolant over that time and that leak had been there since i got the car (i had seen the antifreeze spots on the top of the motor but i thought it was just dirt, it didnt click until i saw it squirting out cuz of the pressure from just bieng driven) [:'(]

o yes it wil did it on mine and it runs just great, mutilation put the link pu before i could but thats a whole step by step process on how i did, including pictures enjoy!

I know how you feel. I got my ring and pinion put in last week and two days later my transmission decides that it dosent like 3rd or 4th gear!! It sucks!! But the best of luck to you on the intake manifold. You can find em for cheap and the install is not bad at all.

I have the worst one of them all! I got all my stuff put in, Gears, manifold, heads, cams, clutch, pulleys, and a week later i crack a rod! But i got a new forged shortblock out of it

Thank guys, I will look into the swap. The bank made me get a warrenty when i bought the car because it was so old they wouldn't loan the money without it. They should cover it unless they weasel out of it because of my mods. If I have to pay for it I will either put the try to put the pi manifold on my heads or just leave the car sit in my garage till I have the money for a full PI swap. I was planning a full swap in the future, but was hoping the stock intake would hold out till I was ready.
