Default should I??????????

should i remove the brace thing behind the front bumper. it dosent look like its on there very sturdy. its the thing with the foam in it. I think it would be some good weight reduction. daily driver btw. thanks

If you take it out, bumber might start to sag, it kinda holds it up.

Re-attach the bolt. As jma07 said, if you remove it, the bumper could begin to sag. The bumpers are not metal and therefore are subject to contraction and expansion. As the weather changes the bumper will adjust. The foam framing helps keep the shape and reduce noise.

and if you end up rear ending someone or getting backed into at a low speed, that foam may prevent any damage from even happening (my last mustang was rear ended about 9 times without any visible damage). without the foam theres a chance your bumper would just shatter, and hell u could maybe jack up ur radiator. leave the bumper in especially since its a DD...surely you must have better ideas for weight reduction than getting rid of your safety features on a DD.

yeah iwas rear ended ALOT. i had the car inhighschool and college.

i was rear ended several times leaving highschool, theres a small little street that u can exit onto the main road from the parking lot and theres a stop sign OBVIOUSLY before entering the street. well you know highschoolers once the damn bell rings everyones gotta tear *** outta the parking lot...most ppl dont stop at the stop sign (and there were cops writing tickets EVERY day to ppl who didnt...all they did was post up there for that reason). well i was one of the few who actually stopped at the sign and i got rear ended there several times. same at college except i was always rear ended at a stop sign pulling into school by some moron who overslept and was rushing to get to school. and rear ended once at a red light.. then i was tboned by some moron lady who ran a stop sign and that finished the car.

yeah that car went through hell and she held her own...thats why im on my second mustang except this time 8 cylinders (the first was a 6, my old man wouldnt let me get an 8 i had to beg and plea for the 6)

and out of all those rear ends the most i got was some scuff marks that i rubbed off the back bumper
