Default exhaust questions

Hey everyone, new here. Finally back to working on my 2002 gt after all these years. Had an STi, but got rid of it for a wakeboarding boat so back to playing with the mustang.....so heres the questions.....

1)I just got the BBK x pipe w/cats........its suppose to just bolt on to the factory flanges or do I need to replace more?

2)I have a MAC cold air, BBK 75mm TB, and a C+L plenum, and soon to have the BBK xpipe w/cats on...and its lowered with Eibachs...Im looking at a cat back system, BTW I only replaced the mufflers years ago with flowmasters, so the question is, is a cat-back system the next thing to put on, or not since i replaced the mufflers.

thanks and looking foward to discussions with all of you.

Default RE: exhaust questions

1)No need for any other flanges the x pipe is direct replacement.

2) Not sure if I completely unbderstand this question but heres what I got a catback will come with larger piping than stock and includes a resonator/muffler you WILL net a few more HP gain (as well as a better sound IMO) from a catback than just weld in mufflers. So from there you should be able to make a decsion. Hope that helped. and welcome to the forums!!

thanks for number 1....i tried to replace it last night but I need air guns and all to get the corroded nuts off. I took it too a shop and they said the flanges are too corroded and would have to be replaced (BS) and also the midpipe is a different size so it wouldnt fit into the exsisting exhuast.....both i think are BS, hence the question just to make sure.
yeah number 2 is confusing....
what i want to know is with the mufflers replaced is it worth the money for the HP gains to do a complete catback, or save the money for headers or something else, and if it was something else what would it be. thanks

the x pipe should fit into the stock catback, thats a load of BS they are giving you

as for the flanges being too coroded, that could very well be possible

and, get a full catback, its stainless steel, looks better, and sounds better (SLP for the win)

Yea if plan on going full bolt ons go ahead and get the catback. as dor the misdpipe it's 2.5 piping and your stock is 21/4 but the midpipe is made to fit....please go to a different shop I wouldnt trust them...
