Default RE: underdrive pulleys question

ok I hate to beat a dead horse here on this subject but.......

I wonder if the problems some guys are having with their underdirve is from PI swaps and other combined mods which makes the final tuning a bit trcky. If your completely stock I would assume you should be ok (no problems) else they would not be selling these suckers...????? And everyone would have some issues with them.........

Ok my opion is this (I have not installed underdrives yet). My car is a 98 GT convertible I use as a daily driver and I put on it 650 miles per week! If it gives me 2 more ponies AND 3 MPG AT THE SAME TIME I most certainly am interested.

My goal is more MPG AND HP at the same time. Headers CATS CAI Underdrives, ignition etc upgrades are the mods I want to use to accomplish this as I get the money. The 4.8 non PI will never be a race care just a responsive cool car. So I just want to get the most out of it in econamy and performnce.

Hummmm I wonder if I should add a tuner or timing adjuster to the list above to advance the timing as well....

Your thoughts welcome.......

Crap, 650 miles a week? No higher than 3.73s if you plan on getting gears in the future [sm=badidea.gif]

I have had no problems with my UDP's since I installed them. I ahve Full bolt on's on my car w/ tune and no problems starting in the winter, ever. Yes, the lights may dim a bit, and the heat will slow down a bit (but nothing you dont get used to). I have ne ver had any probs with the UDP's. I think they are a good mod. I would def recommend staying away fromt he piggy back style ones though. If I were you guys and you wanted a uner w/ them, I would go to RPMoutlet.com and get the tuner/pulley combo which is like $450 for pullies and tuner. Any pully package you get will come w/ installation instructions. You will need a harmonic damper puller to get the harmonic damper off properly. You can borrow one of these from autozone or most othe auot parts stores for free.
