Default Problems with 3rd gear

Well recently i picked up my mustang and it only has 22k miles on it so far so its farely new. Well lastnight i was having problems with 3rd gear not going in, The transmission is a tr3650 and i know there are tsb's on it and i was just wondering if this is in the tsb. say im shifting fast 1-2 and then shifting fast from 2-3, 3rd doesnt go in, it doesnt want to sink into its gear, but only when i shift fast but theres no grinding noise or nothing. but when i granny shift it, there are no problems. can this be the TSB taking place or can it also be bad transmission fluid, worn clutch cable, clutch?

I have the same problem except mine is an 04 with 18,000 miles. Iupgraded the clutch after the supercharger installbut it did this before I had the new clutch installed anyway. It only does it when I am racing at the track or trying to do a quick shift from 2nd to 3rd. It pisses me off at the track but amusing as well. I took out an trans am having problems going into 3rd. The guy had something against me because he made it a point to call me out and talk **** amongst his friends about how he was going to take "that mustang". I don't think he knew I was supercharged. Anyway, I would like to hear other opinions on this transmission issueas well. It just started one day. I am wondering myself if some cable or something just got bent and what can I do to fix it??

Well, i let my bro drive my car, he had a 94 11sec drag stang so hes a more experienced driver then me, and it seems fine when he drives it. He said i just need to let the scynchros have time to set or something with the stock shifter.

no its jsut your driving, 3rd is tricky on 3650's - just takes some practice - and no a short throw wont completely fix that. Its all you brotha...

My 04 wont go into 3rd at the track if Im trying to powershift. I can only get it in if I speed shift. LOL I couldnt get it into 3rd last week but still beat the GTO.

The Tremec isa great tranny. The 3rd dogleg is tricky, but DO get the short throw shifter from steeda or something similar. It will improve the positive feel of the shift, and is LOADS better than the crappy/sloppy stock shifter. It is not just you, dude.

Plus you can smash that sucker into third with a properly adjusted stop on the short throw shifter during racing (gorrilla-like hard shifts into 3rd with the stock shifter will only screw up your tranny).

See the shifter here: http://www.steeda.com/products/steed...mec_tr3650.php

"Offset pre-load springs make sure you find third gear every time and adjustable positive stops prevent damage to the transmission." Steeda description of Tri-Ax
