Default Short Shifter Question PICS INSIDE UPDATED

i've heard on this forum that the steeda and pro 5.0 short shifters are the best to buy. my question is, are the b&m ripper shifter any good? they came stock on the 2000 cobra R. i wanted to know if anyone in the forums has had any experience w/ them?

my other question is that i found out my cobra has a short shifter, just not sure what type. can somebody explain on how to remove the the center plastic thing along with the leather cover? thanks for any info.

you talking about the shifter bezel? if so unscrew the shifter ****, then pull up on the bezel, it comes off as a unit with the bezel and leather boot.

grab the bezle at 4 and 8 o'clock and pull toward you slowly, dont be ruff or it will snap a pin, just take your time with it. then when its out, pull up and disconnect the 12v outlet source. its just a plug n play connection, reall easy. then take the rest off.

EDIT:and as far as shifters go. they are all about the same. ppl like the MGW more because its adjustable er w/e.. just get whatevers cheap man. iv felt both the mgw n steed(i have steeda) same damn thing lol mgw is a little smotther but i like the notchiness better

i have a mgw and no complaints here, love it.

i drove a triax car and it felt very notchy, more of a racing shifter. i drove a car with pro5.0 and did not like it as much as the mgw. anything is better than stock.

i put my B&M pro ripper in last weekend and love it. I put a T handle on it with a nos button. Hopfully the nos will be functional this weekend. If i can figure out how to post pics, i will do it sometime to night.
