Default Best Drag Radial, and will it fit?

I'm spinning my 375/40R17 Daytona radials at 75mph WOT.

My next tires will be DRs for sure.... thinking about upping the size to 315/35R17 Nittos. I found a place that will install that tire for 170$. TireRack.com doesn't list Nitto. My wheels are 17x9. I mety a guy running 315/35R17 Nittos on 17x9 wheels, and he loves em.

Will the 315s run okay on 17x9 wheels?
170$ installed seems like a good price, agree?
Anybody like/dislike Nitto?

Well you sure wont be getting two Nitto drags for $170 installed! I just bought my second set in 3 months and they cost me about $400 for 275/40/17's. Make sure you are getting the 555R drag radial and not just the 555's. They are really good tires and if you're not as hard on them as I was you might get six months use out of them.

NITTOS SUCK trust me (unless i got a bad batch) im going with the bfg's next. When i first got them i saw no improvement in traction or 60 foot time so get what you want but you probably wont be happy

They are a hard compound and they need to be heated properly before you get good traction with them. I pulled a 1.8 60' with my last set of Nitto's. If you get BFG's then you will be buying new tires every 4000 miles. They are made of a soft compound that will sling rubber with just normal highway driving.

The quote was for 170$ was per tire installed plus tax.

The guy I taked to said he got 10k miles average with moderate driving. 15k if he never jumped on it (like I'm not going to jump on it).

I too have heard horrible wear stories on the BFG.

BFGs wear to damn fast for a daily driver, ied say go with the nittos, and just heat em up properly before a run at the track

Nittos compared to BFG's are well worth the money. I would like a set of BFG's on seperate rims for the track though.

Why not just get some slicks if your going for a seperate tire for the track

With the power I have, I suspect the list of parts I'll break when slicks hook up good is long and expensive.

Besides, this is a convertible. NHRA rules and my refusal to put a cage on my daily driver prevent this from being a drag car.

Thanks though.
