so, last night I pull into the driveway, go inside, get changed, come out to see me lights are on. I know I didnt leave them on so I get inside the car and the light switch/**** is not on, so I mess with the signal shifter and it was my brights that were on. I didnt turn them on... they must have turns themself on cause when I messed with the lever/turn signal it started smoking... what the heck?! Any ideas?

haha, it was the craziest thing. The smoke came from the trun signal lever... might have to pull the steering column off?

No just take the plastic facia off the column and you'll see where the switch goes into the column. then you'll be able to see what's going on.
