Default reving at idle

When I turn my A/C or defroster on, the car's idle will jump a few hundred RPMs every once in a while. It's only when the A/Cand the defroster is on, though, so I don't think that the idle itself is messed up. A guy at the shop said that it's because the A/C is kicking on and off and that's what's causing it. Anybody have this problem or know what it is?

haha I have an auto... and I would literly have to press down the brake as hard as I could cuz my car would jump at red lights if the ac was on... it was kinda cool. I would always joke and be like "easyyyyyyyy girl.... easyyyyyyyyy" and people would just look over and be like damnnnnnnnn

Wow, I never realized so many other Stangs did that. Thanks for the information; it takes one thing off the list of things to fix. Oh, and swooshonln, that's pretty friggen funny!
