Aluminum Driveshaft

RE: Aluminum Driveshaft
there are so many grades of aluminum... it dependsif it's an aloy or if it's been hardened, cold rolled ect. ect. ect. it can be really strong. plus it's going to take more force to twist something to break then applying a direct load in the middle.. everything that you're probably test isn't rotating.. Plus they wouldn't have it as an aftermarket upgrade to your car if something bad was going to happen. This by it's self won't free up much, if you do the whole drivetrain, flywheel, pully's, driveshaft, whatever, it's going to add on to it. it's like just buying a catback, by it's self your buying sound, with a mid pipe, and long tubes your getting some power.

Unless your out there ripping up 1.3 60' times with a crapton of power you have very little hope of damanging any shaft, be it aluminum or the stocker.
more than likely your going to break a U joint before the shaft itself, and as stated its going to take LOTs of power and HARD launch to do anything even to the U joints if they are properly taken care of.

Everything I have read says an aluminum flywheel would be best in road racing applications and a steel or a stocker better in drag racing apps. So I guess it would be up to what the car is used for.

aluminum driveshaft and a lightweight flywheel make a huge difference.

Aluminum flywheels and driveshafts are nice and all, but not on a dd. Your RPM's do raise quicker, but they also drop quicker. You're going to go through more gas with that combo.
