it alows you to advance or retard your timing upto like 10 degrees or somehting like that on both ends. IMO tho its a waste of money for JUST a timing adjuster, you might aswell get a tuner if your thinking about it.

In my case it helped me out.. especially when i installed my nitrous. I normally change my timing from winter to summer. I cant spray during the winter months because i just cant get the car to hook up. So i advance the timing and get back to not running premium all year round.
