I have a buddy that wrecked his car, he had tuned it with the Diablo. The issue is he has a newer car (2003) is there any way he can re-use the handheld? He says that his old car is on it, he needs to cancel his old program so he can use it on his new car. Is there any truth to this?

I am a pushrod fox body guy, so these Diablo tuners are greek to me.

All he has to do is take the tune off of the old car and put it on the new car. I don't think theres any other way to do it then that.

ok heres the deal you cant use the same programmer on a different can unless you want to send it back to diablo for vin number unlocking because after the first use they become vin num locked to the first car they are used on.

No way, Diablo takes the stock chip settings and stores them on the tuner. If you take the tune off and go back to the stock chipsettings which are stored on the tuner, tuner is free to go onto another vehicle. Simple as that, I have moved mine from three different stangs and it works just fine. 1 was total and I wasn't even in the car. 2 was a auto trans which I hated and 3 is my latest 03 stick GT. All with the same tuner.

From what I understand once you have your cars numbers on it, its locked on tht car until you put the stock tune back on your car and release it from the predator. Just what I have heard not 100% sure though.
