weird, do you know of a good manual tranny that could handle up to 1000ish tq??
do you really plan on running up to 1000 ft/lbs of tq?

The TKO and T-56 are extremely underrated, just like the 45 and 3650.

A TKO will pretty much take anything a 2v 4.6L can throw at it. Your simply not going to ever make 1000 FT/LBs on a 2v 4.6L. I don't see even a crazy race only build making anywhere near that..

yeah.. the 3650 is complete garbage. my car was pushing 550RWHP 500RWTQ with the stock 3650 and it's still running strong. what a piece of junk!
The 3650 is alot better than the 45, but its holding due to luck, and how you treat it. If you were constantly slamming gears/powershifting and pulling 1.5 60' times its only a matter of time before something goes boom.

+1 on not beefing it up... why bother when for what would be around the same price (unless you can find a deal) you can buy a complete transmission thats specifically setup for abuse (tko).

I think the transmissions are pretty stout as far as just holding power, but if you beat on them every day you will have to put synchros / second gear/ sliders da da da and it is not cheap.

If i planned on buying a Tko I wouldn't do it untill the one you got now breaks... ya never know it may last forever

1.) remove transmission
2.) tie a rope to it
3.) keep it on the boat because all it is good for is an anchor
4.) get a t56

...who said anything about keeping it a 2V...? lol j/k My future plans will be a 4V swap with a some kind of built shortblock, MMR something like their 1100hp race motor or the Ford bored 1400hp race motor. Its a ways until my car it paid off, so none of that will happen til then. I will be building this little motor, heads, cams, nitrous, slicks, and built rear end. Since I am throwing slicks on it, thats why I ask about the trans, I did not know if there were cheap ways to make them handle more power, IF(subjective) needed.

And I had always planned on a viper spec T56 with 3.90-4.10's. I liek with the 6th gear .50 and 4.10's your doing 85 MPH at like 2300 RPM. One thing I like about the 3650 is its first gear ratio. The 3650 with stock 3.27 gears has a higher ratio than a T56 with with 4.10's.

my money is on you getting rid of the car long before you hit those kinds of power levels. you're going to need a nasty turbo kit or like a vortech YSI to even get close those numbers.

The 3650 is def. better than a T45 no doubt, but if you are grabbing gears, ripping on her like its a mustang, and running around on slicks...you will eventually break the sob. My T45 just went out and i picked up a beefed up T56.

Damn you guys talk alot of sh** about the 3650. Look at the T5. Look at the T45. the 3650 is a GIGANTIC improvement over those transmissions. they're not garbage,i've beat the hell out of mine and it still holds up strong. and if you're really worried about breaking a manual trans, and pushing "1000rwtq",you'd probably be better off going with something like a built AOD.
