Default Getting A CAM CANT DECIDE.

I am getting a comp cam here pretty soon. I want to know if anyone knows a reason why i shouldnt go with the stage 2? I am willing to buy the valve springs for the stage twos. Isnt there a larger gain with the stage 2? Are there any down sides of having the 1's instead of 2's?

The best way to buy cams is to wait untill you have all the intake and exhaust mods done and get a set of cams that maximize the gains. This includes any head porting work.If forced induction is part of your future plans,it would be best to get everything at the same time.Supercharger cams are very different than N/A cams.Getting cams that will outflow the heads is awaste of money, call Comp Cams tech dept.and tell them what you have and what you want to do.They can tell you exactly what to expect from which cam set.

lol, i wonder how the motor would run on one stock and one comp cam?

ZW99GT, comp doesn't make cams in stages.

you're basically looking at the following XEAH cams:

262
270
274
278

the 262 is a great cam, i have the 270's and recommend them, but warn you to be careful when installing to avoid ptv contact.

if you are set on comp, i'd go with the 270's if you have big plans, the 262's if you just want a nice street cam.

if you are flexible, get the VT stage II's. best overall street cam IMO.
