3v swap?
what would a 3v motor and manual trans. from a newer model mustang swapped into a 97 GT entail? And how would it compare with price vs. power of a 4v swap? Just thought about it and got curious.. thanks

RE: 3v swap?
3v is the new 4v, they make good power - but right now they are expensive for some retarded reason - in the near future alot of people will be doing 3v swaps (they will be cheap as dirt)... however they sound like total poo

RE: 3v swap?
I did my '96 cobra swap for $2800 after adding up everything including the oil and filter. The 3v's use electronic throttle control and a few other things I would rather not have! They cost more than an '99-02 cobra engine also. (99-02's have 15 more hp than 96-98's)

RE: 3v swap?
yeah, 4v swap for a 96-04 mustang is the way to go. different mounting points come up with the newer blocks and also when you think of it, the 3v motor might be a good base to go off of, but when it comes to modding, the new 3v stuff is quite expensive and doesnt have as large as a market as the 4v engines have.

Ahem... 3v engines, oil pan to intake manifold (needs throttle body, injectors, front accessories) - $750

Not that karkraft is real quick on the shipping, but DAMN what a price... Does anyone know if the cam timing advance is JUST ECU controlled? Or is it oil pressure controlled?
