I decided to upgrade my front brakes to Cobra 13" rotors and calpers and will be getting saleen "18 wheels in spring. My question is will my stock 17" rims fit with the Cobra front calpers? I wanted to use these stock bullet rims for winter tires.

I have been told YES they do, however those rims come in 6.12 or 5.72 backspacing so I am not positive if the 5.72 backspacing will fit.

The FRPP catalog is very vague about this.

Has anyone else tried this? I have an early '03.I hope they fit so i do not have to sell them as i want them for snows.

i dont think so, i have the m-2300 r kit. its on my 99 gt. i remember something about the stock rims not working, definitly the spare wont work. i was upgrading to better rims anyway(just like your going to do) so i would get your 18's

I have the stock bullitts (04) and they fit fine. It's VERY close though, caliper to wheel clearance is as low as 3/4"... and caliper to spoke clearance is probably about half that.

+1, I am running the cobra brakes on my '04 with stock bullitts, and while it is a TIGHT fit, everything clears fine.

yea, i have the same setup. it actually looks very good because it looks like your brakes are HUGE since they fill the entire inside of the rim.

Mine fit on my 9 inch bullits as well. Hell, its a STOCK bullit rim.. and the brakes come stock on the bullitt stangs.

One thing to keep in mind, unless you want to be swapping wheel studs and running spacers (huge hassle) you will not be able to swap on a 15 inch drag racing rim on the front if you want to go to the strip.

The brakes are worth it though, x10 better than stock 11.xx crap.

are the front calipers and the rear the same size?

The rear is 100% the same. I do not suggest swapping the rear, it's not worth the hassle.

The front calipers are different, and allow the larger rotor to fit.
