Auto trans shift cable
 

My auto shifter has become very stiff. The plastic coatingon thecable is all cracked and rusty looking. Has anyone had to replace this. The dealer wants $126! Can't find it at an auto store yet! Wondering what others have done?

I have a similar issue with my shifter cable. Basically the part of the cable that connects to and shifts the tranny has a plastic covering/guide. That part is broke into two pieces on mine. Sometimes it's hard to move the shifter and at other times the shift lever is really loose. I checked with MPS salvage and they are charging over 100 dollars for a used shifter cable. I found an entire shifter and cable assembly on ebay last week for 39.99. Hopefully everything is intact. Good Luck.
