UPR Clutch Quadrant & Firewall Adjuster...
I finally got fed up with the monkey-motion plastic and rubber clutch actuator and firewall grommet and installed UPR's triple hook quadrant (p/n 3004-K) and Quick Click adjuster (p/n 3004-QC-EXT)this afternoon. They've been on mybench for a while and I got my back end in gear today and slapped 'em in.WOW! Much better and more consistent feel to the clutch. Somewhat counter-intuitively, I think the firewall adjuster has more to do with this than the quadrant. The OEM firewall "grommet" is a rubbery plastic ferule fastened to the firewall, and then made worse by a mushy rubber dough-nut on the outer cable end. It's no wonder that the clutch had such a vague feel. This is not to say that getting rid of the plastic self-adjusting quadrant was wasted, I am certain it was that assembly that was responsible for the inconsistent nature of the clutch's pickup and release. I didn't get to drive it much this afternoon but I've got a 100 mile trip tomorrow, and 200 miles on Saturday. The Quick Click adjuster is very nice, positive locking with no tools--I did put some loctite on the Allen set screw holding the detent ball spring, it was not locked in place and the way my luck runs it would have vibrated out at some very inconvenient time. UPR should do this, recommend it, or stake the screw in place.Highly recommended--no affiliation, just a happy customer...

RE: UPR Clutch Quadrant & Firewall Adjuster...
I have the C.A.M. firewall adj. and quadrant. I took the quadrant off becuz I hated it. The clutch would just grab too dam quick. I had to take off like a slot car all the time. Also it would mke me wanna grind in 2nd if I jammed her in real quick. My stocker unit doesn't do that. I tried to mess with the adj. and then when it gets to a good spot, my T.O bearing would rattle something fierce! hat was I doing wrong? It def. changed the motion becuz my clutch releases off the floor with stock and with the CAM piece, I would only have to push the clutch in like 3 inches or so to be able to shift!

I might be a problem with the product. I have zero issues with either of my UPR quadrant or adjuster. I doubt it was an issue with the quadrant, sounds more like adjustment.

Some quadrants are designed specifcially to have "faster" initial motion (by having steeper ramp, snail-shell like cam profile). UPR's Speed Release quadrant is like this, however faster release also means higher force required to operate the clutch.Great for racing, but I don't think I'd like that either on a DD...
