RE: chevy engine swap
i dont really see what the point of flaming this guy is for? hes already got the engine, he asked if it can be done and what is needed, not your opinions on why he should or shouldnt do it. give the guy a break. this thread is about as stupid as the ones about the cobra badging on a GT. everybodys got an opinion, but he didnt ask for opinions, he asked for help. and for the argument about droppin a 302 in his car, its honestly not worth the money. yea 302s aftermarket are cheaper but the baseline is horrible and by the time you shell out the money to have the 302 making more than 350rwhp you couldve already had the chevy engine installed, and most likely makin the same power for somewhat cheaper. its gonna be a tough project, lotta custom work, but its possible. i found a thread on an ls1 being dropped in an 05 mustang. wasnt as tough as people thought. i say go for it!!!!!

RE: chevy engine swap
It can be done. I use to be a chevy guy. 350s is all I ran. I've done several swaps. mainly V6 to V8 350s. I did all the work myself, custom motor mounts, exhaust, trany mounts and all the wiring(EFI).
Its gonna take time and cash. But since hes got the motor an cash for a 302 is short.. Do what you need to do.
I agree that you should just get a 302. But all you need is your custom- motor mounts, cross member exhaust, radiator, drive shaft. And switch your gauges. Everything else will be fine. Just dont think you'll be passing emissons.
I hope this some what helps you.
But I'd stick with FORD powerplants, esp. in Mustangs.
