Has anyone ran into this issue? i was thinking about changing the mass air flow sensor ot maybe even the plugs its a 96 gt and it has 112k on it haven't had a problem with it till now. any input would be great.
IAC? is that the intake air control valve? on the intake tube thanks again!
Yep, that's the one. Get some brake cleaner or carb cleaner, remove the IAC valve from the plenum and spray clean that sucker out. While you're at it, get some Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner from Autozone, remove your Mass Flow Sensor, and spray clean the little metal filament inside the tube. Do not use an excessive amount of force on the MAF Sensor for it's delicate. There is an idle air temperature sensorin the intake tubea little ways up from the rear of the MAF Sensor. Remove it and spray clean it with the MAFsensor cleaner.
While theseitems are drying, remove the PCV valve from your valve cover and give it a shake. If it rattles, it's still good. Other than the fuel filter, these areas cause these types of issues and are the quickest and cheapest to fix (at least to me).
