cold air on winter ? raining ?
i was told its a bad idea to have the CAI when its raining because water goes in there since mine goes all the way down to the fender and in front of the tire so im sure it does get wet so should i put the stock one back on since the summer is over ?

Leave it on year round. You have nothing to worry about unless you plan on taking your car out for some scuba diving lessons. It takes quite a bit of water to make it up about 2 feet of tubing with bends in it.

I have a CAI, save your money and get a short ram probly 1 hp diff not worth it in my book. Do the free mod with your intake its in here some where on the site, but if you decide to go with the CAI there's nothing to worry about.

plus 1 to that^ i had no choice but to drive through some high water when it rains it it is pretty damn close to my filter(when i had my cai) just take the elbows off if your worried about it and bolt it up like a ram air system. i put my stock airbox on as a heatsheild and modified my air silencer to fit just enough into the fender well. so it works like a hybrid ram air

unless your driving in 2 feet of water its not going to suck water in. ive had a mustang for 4 years off and on, driven through bad storms with CAI's on both never had a problem...nor have i even heard of anyone having a problem. whoever told you that is a moron...i live in FL and it rains pretty good here and im not the least bit worried about sucking water up into a filter thats 2 feet off the ground.
agreed though, stock intake with a K+N and silencer removed works just as good as a CAI, just doesnt look as pretty...and morons you talk to outside this forum will tell youCAI adds like 50 more hp than a drop in.
