WILL 275/40'S RUB IN THE FRONT?
I am thinking of putting 275/40/17's in the front and I am concerned about rubbing. The rim offset is 24mm and is a 17x9.

Nope....I have 275/40/17's on a 17x9 wheel (front) and 335/35/17's on a 17x10.5 (rear) with a 1.5" drop...never rubbed.

Looks like you have Cobra wheels. They have a 26mm offset as opposed to my 24mm. That might be the difference, no?
