Without the MIL's you'll be looking at a very rich, bad smelling exhaust, poor fuel economy, possibly fouling out O2 sensors, and your car may run a bit weird. I wouldn't drive it much without getting them.

When my CEL is on because of that my car runs like shhh.... You said it was sitting up in that shop for a long time... probably just bad gas, got some moisture in it. Run that full tank of new gas through it hope it works out.
